AbstractPaintings Home About Terms

My rules for abstracts:

  1. Make an image that is unlike anything that has been seen before in life or in art. If it looks like a Pollock, it's not good enough. If it "feels" like something, that's okay.
  2. Make the image interesting. If it looks like it was a done by a chimp to raise money for a zoo, it's not good enough. (Kudos to the chimp, though.)
  3. Convey a feeling.
  4. Make the image attractive.
This makes for a challenge that I have only attempted a few times.

Place the cursor over a picture to see a zoomed view. The paintings that use metallics are difficult to see properly in a photo. You can click on those to see a brief animation with moving light. Unfortunately, this still isn't as good as seeing the painting in person.

Note that any nudity in these paintings has been "airbrushed" out to make this a "PG" site. You can see the originals on Instagram.
